COURSE INFORMATION

This is your ticket to a lifetime of unforgettable adventures. If you always wanted to become a certified scuba diver, then now is the right time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the world’s most popular scuba course! This Course consists of knowledge development, skill development and open water dives. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to teach student divers the fundamental knowledge and skills they need to dive with a buddy, without the assistance of a PADI professional. The full PADI Open Water Diver Certification will complete your beginner training and it will allow you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18m/60ft.
You earn this license by completing five knowledge development sessions, five training dives in confined water and by making four open water dives from the shore or off a boat. The PADI Open Water Diver License is a permanent scuba qualification and the first step which will allows you to continue your training into specialised and advanced diver training.

Step 1 Knowledge Development

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

The knowledge development portion of the course is designed so you can understand the basic principles of scuba diving, including equipment and techniques. The Theory consist of five chapters of the PADI Open Water Diver mannual, five corresponding knowledge reviews and five chapters of the PADI DVD Open Water Diver Video. Upon complition you will be given five quizzes of multiple choice and a final exam. You can do the knowledge section at your own pace and when it’s convenient for you. You can complete the academics online, study independent or in our ‘classroom’.

Step 2: Confined Water Dives

In this part of the course you will learn and develop basic scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions under instructor supervision. You will practice all the five confined water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver Course. As you learn new skills, you’ll build the abilities and confidence needed for diving in open water. There’s a swim test of 200 metres without mask, snorkel and fins or 300 metres swim with mask, snorkel and fins. There’s also a survival float test in order to get certified.

Step 3: Open Water Dives

In this part of the course you will complete four open water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
There, you will have a chance to use the skills you already mastered in the confined water, demonstrate the techniques for safe, enjoyable diving and exploring amazing new worlds.

For the PADI Open Water Diver Course/Junior Open Water Diver Course you must be 15/10 or older, you need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health.
No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

DURATION

Takes three to four days to complete the course. Depending on your pace of learning.

Please note you cannot dive 24 hours before flying.

Children who are 10 or older can participate in the PADI Junior Open Water Programmme.

You will need to go through the PADI Medical Questionnaire to see if you are fit to dive. Please download the form through here (PADI MEDICAL STATEMENT). The medical questionnaire has to be completed and might indicate a contraindication to check with your doctor.

Firstly, you should know that diving insurance is mandatory. You can either purchase your own insurance, or you can purchase Divers Alert Network (DAN) insurance from us directly for 15USD per week.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is taught in English, German, Spanish, French and Bulgarian. The learning materials are available in a wide variety of languages.

In the PADI Open Water Diver Course, you will learn to use basic scuba gear, including a snorkel, mask, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD) and a tank. The equipment you will wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water.

The swim test consists of 200 metres swim without mask, snorkel and fins or 300 metres swim with mask, snorkel and fins and a survival float test in order to get certified.

We will provide all the required equipment. You simply need swimwear, towel and sunglasses.

If you prefer, you can do your theoretical part any time before your arrival. This allows you to study at home before you arrive. You can easily do this at any time by participating in the PADI eLearning Programme. This saves you precious vacation time so you can fit in some other activities too.
