REACTIVATE YOUR CERTIFICATION

Refresh your dive skills with the PADI ReActivate Programme

COURSE INFORMATION

Take the PADI ReActivate programme today and refresh your dive skills, before getting back in the water.
If you are a certified diver, haven’t dived in a while and are nervous about getting back in the water, then the PADI ReActivate Programme might be right for you.
This programme is the perfect opportunity to refresh your academics skills and dive theory as well as your underwater diving skills. Your PADI certification does not expire and participation in the PADI ReActivate programme is not mandatory. Although the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) suggests that divers who have not dived in the last six months should take a refresher course.
The PADI ReActivate Programme consists of PADI ReActivate eLearning and ReActive Water skills Dive Session. This programme is completely personalised for you by your instructor, based on your needs. During a pre-dive interview your instructor will have you complete and review a knowledge
assessment. Next, you will review your dive history and a list of skills you would like to practice before getting into the water. In the water, your PADI Professional will help you regain comfort and confidence in scuba diving. You will practice a few safety-related skills and then go over anything you specifically want to review. After successfully completing the programme, you will receive a replacement certification PADI ReActivate Card. The new card will have the original certification date and will have the new ReActivate date. This certification will update your dive skills and knowledge.
If you want to learn more about diving in a new area or in different dive conditions, ask about completing a Discover Local Diving experience to one of our dive sites. The PADI ReActivate Course consists of two main phases:

Step 1 PADI ReActivate eLearning

The PADI ReActivate eLearning is designed to reeducate you on fundamental scuba knowledge you may have forgotten since your last dive. You will immerse yourself in dive scenarios and make decisions that test your understanding of important dive safety concepts, dive planning essentials and problem management. The theory consists of PADI ReActivate eLearning and ReActivate Quick Review. There’s no exam required for the completion of this Programme. You can do the knowledge section at your own pace and when it’s convenient for you. Download the program to watch realistic dive scenarios, then see if you remember how to best handle each situation. ReActivate monitors your responses and moves on
when you’re spot on, or delivers more detailed information if you weren’t quite right.

Step 2 Water skills dive session

In this portion of the Programme you will review the basic skills learned in your Open Water Course.
Your PADI Professional will have you practice setting up your equipment, explain to you how to use the equipment and will go over the pre-dive safety check.

Water skills: buoyancy check at the surface to determine how much weight you need, remove, replace and clear the mask, become  neutrally buoyant and hover, emergency weight drop at the surface, ascend properly using an alternate air source and establish a positive buoyancy at the surface. Additionally, you will review any skills specified during your pre-dive interview. Use this time with a professional to get
comfortable with your buoyancy skills, such as hovering, using your lungs to make small adjustments, efficient fin kicking and proper trim. Perfecting these skills helps extend your dive time and makes for a more enjoyable experience.
